After that last stint of a promised revival my popular blog, I just decided that if I make it less of a daily obligation I may be more compelled to update. I probably just damned myself there but whatever. Anyway, since my last post I have moved to Portland and started school at The Western Culinary Institute and am studying for an AAS in Baking and Pastry.
School has been fine alright although I don’t really like talking about it. Same with my thoughts on Portland in general. I think it is because even with my moderate affection for it all it has not finished and I can’t make an opinion until I have gone to the next part of my life. I think it may also have something to do with missing San Jose and Kathryn. In the meantime though, I see the rest of my stay here being uneventful but full of life lessons I’m sure.
What else?…I am watching a shitload of movies now that my job has cut back on the hours. Watched The Big Lebowski, The Usual Suspects and Pulp Fiction all for the first time and can say they all lived up to their collective hype.
Well talk me up! I don’t have anything to do and no one to talk to.

Today was the second day of the feel-like-your-on-fire season. And with that I must say I love the high blurry feeling of the heat all over and when the windows are down in your car, the wind is just as warm. I feel full and I keep thinking about sitting in a rocking chair on a porch with mint tea and summer cake and being lazy. Like white Jim Crow lazy. All racism aside, summer is the greatest time to be around here and I will miss it.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to do after culinary school and when I have made some money in the restaurants. Mostly my future bakery/coffee roasters/vegetarian cafe/book store/venue. If anyone is interested in being apart of my dream that is likely to happen in the next ten years, let me know!
The name though is still in deliberation. I am a bear and love my kind so California Bear sounds nice. And the other name comes from my nick name given to me by my best friend Steele. Jeffy’s would be a classic name for the times and I could see how the youth around town would be saying ‘Let meet at Jeffy’s.’ or ‘Are you going to the show at The Bear?’. And with California Bear, signature items would be cooler.
Well if you have any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them.

For how long is uncertain but I recently felt compelled to start updating regularly again. Perhaps it will become usefull for when I move in the summer and hopefully meet many more people with whom I do not harbor disdain for. (For you grammar idiots, please see the rules of English) And maybe this time around I may acually get a few readers. I also plan to start my baking blog on here and branch off if it becomes popular. So put me back on your feed list because I am back to fill your world with blasphemous insight and delicious pastry.

Never do I feel more like I have been born in the wrong time than when I watch the 1995 blockbuster, Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone. I mean besides comparing how social trends differ from the 90’s’ inspiration and simplicity to today’s very uninspired and entirely misled population, everything about the 90’s was better. Except maybe for television (excluding Seinfeld). And when I watch Clueless I am never quite happy because I know I will never know the love of Alicia Silverstone.
I mean sure when I am a famous 25 year old pastry chef and she comes to my restaurant or bakery and I woo her with my charm, good looks and great vegan pastry then I will have my shot. But it won’t be the same as if I had been with her then in her prime, most desirable actress of 1996 time. Seriously, I have seen very few women as attractive as her if any. And she is a vegan, active environmentalist, and supports Dennis Kucinich. Really, if there is a god, he fucked up. I should be married to her and taking care of her and I love her. So if you have her address, give it to me! Or if you are Alicia and you’re reading this, when you divorce your husband, you know where to reach me.
